To drive the indexing chuck (i.e., to perform clamping, unlocking, and indexing actions), a hydraulic power unit is required.
Installing an indexing chuck on a lathe without a hydraulic power unit necessitates modifying the hydraulic circuit to accommodate it.
Therefore, assuming the filter and pump are suitable, connect the standard chuck's clamping/unlocking circuit to the indexing chuck's clamping/unlocking circuit,
and connect the tailstock's retraction/forward movement to the indexing chuck's indexing circuit. Check and set the pressure switch to ensure this circuitry is provided.
If a suitable power unit is unavailable, we can provide (or the customer can provide) a simple power unit adapted to the indexing chuck's operating conditions.
This can be done by modifying the unit according to the hydraulic schematic diagram, or by contacting our sales department for modification services.
