The adjustment of the Hydraulic Center Rest can be completed in just 2 steps

Oct. 28, 2025

Among machine tool accessories, a hydraulic center rest is essential for machining long workpieces!

However, proper adjustments are necessary before using the center rest.

We can check the pressure gauge on the lower left side of the front of the machine tool and adjust the pressure reducing valve of the hydraulic center rest to achieve the appropriate clamping force.

How can we tell if the hydraulic center rest is properly adjusted? Don't worry, the professionals below will teach you: Adjusting the hydraulic center rest only requires two steps.

First, align the center hole position. Then, prepare the outer circle, top end face, inner hole, and 60° chamfer of the tripod end, ensuring the machined surfaces on both sides are coaxial.

This facilitates support for the hydraulic center rest and prevents any workpiece movement.

When adjusting the center rest legs and the contact surface between the rollers and the workpiece, the rollers will rotate. Check if the rollers stop when external force is applied.

If they do not stop, the adjustment is correct; otherwise, continue applying pressure.

The opening and closing of the hydraulic center rest can be controlled by the system, and manual control is also possible.

During operation, confirm the buttons on the panel and adjust the position of the hydraulic center support to ensure the center support rollers are clamped on a support surface with good performance.

Loosen the bolts on the hydraulic center support base, adjust the right-end pin of the center support and insert it into the empty slot of the slide plate,

then move the slide plate. Once the position is confirmed, retract the pin and tighten the front bolts.
