Precautions for using laser chucks

Oct. 28, 2025

Precautions for using laser chucks:

1. Always turn off all power before installing, inspecting, or lubricating the laser chuck to ensure operator safety.

2. Do not operate the switching valve while the spindle is rotating.

Do not separate the laser chuck until the turret head has returned to a safe position. Do not allow the workpiece or jaws to contact the turret head.

3. The chuck rotation speed should be selected appropriately based on the cutting conditions to prevent workpiece flipping.

Do not exceed the maximum permissible limit. As long as the jaws are designed according to specifications, the spindle speed can achieve balance and machining at its highest speed.

Unbalanced jaws have the greatest impact on the maximum speed; users should pay close attention to the jaw design.

4. Do not activate the spindle switch before the safety door is closed to prevent the workpiece or jaws from flying out.

5. Do not exceed the maximum hydraulic pressure of the chuck to avoid damage to the chuck or workpiece flying out.

6. Use a hydraulic station with a reversing valve to avoid a sharp drop in cylinder pressure when power is interrupted or the workpiece flies out.

7. Do not arbitrarily replace the chuck to avoid damaging it. 8. If the chuck is worn or damaged,

replace the jaws immediately to prevent the workpiece from flying out during operation.

9. Do not drink alcohol or take narcotic drugs before operating the machine.

10. Do not wear gloves or a tie when operating the machine.

11. Use slings or lifting rings when removing and installing the chuck.

12. Do not hold the workpiece in your hand when clamping it.

13. Do not impact the chuck to prevent the jaws or workpiece from flying out.

14. Lubricate regularly to prevent bearings from rusting or parts from wearing due to poor machining accuracy.

Regular maintenance must be performed according to the working environment conditions encountered during chuck use.
