The key points for operating a hydraulic center rest are: First, fix the hydraulic center rest to the back of the CNC lathe.
With the workpiece rotating, first ensure the two lower support jaws evenly contact the workpiece support surface and then clamp them.
Next, tighten the top cover and adjust the position of the upper support jaws until they are properly positioned, then clamp them securely.
The support surface should be coaxial with the spindle rotation center to avoid uneven pressure on the support jaws,
which could cause offset from the center, resulting in over-positioning and potentially workpiece slippage and accidents.
What precautions should be taken during normal operation?
1. The hydraulic center rest must be installed, operated, and maintained by trained personnel.
2. Fix the hydraulic center rest to the back of the lathe. With the workpiece rotating,
first ensure the two lower support jaws evenly contact the workpiece support surface and then clamp them.
Next, tighten the top cover and adjust the position of the upper support jaws until they are properly positioned,
then clamp them securely. 3. The support claws of the hydraulic center rest should apply force evenly, with appropriate tightness and smooth operation;
4. In specific machining processes, the rotational speed of the hydraulic center rest rollers must not exceed the specified value of the hydraulic center rest;
5. When using a hydraulic center rest to clamp workpieces with high precision, to prevent wear on the workpiece surface by the support claws,
a layer of pure metal sheet or fine sandpaper should be placed between each support claw and the support surface of the hydraulic center rest.
The reverse side of the sandpaper should be attached to the workpiece surface. When the workpiece surface has keyways or notches,
brass collars can be used to mount on the outer surface of the workpiece as the support surface of the hydraulic center rest.
