Drake's broaching tools can produce keyways in a fraction of the time compared to other technologies.
They eliminate the need for two machines, allowing all machining to be completed on a single lathe.
Thus, cycle times can be significantly reduced.
Keyways up to 10 mm wide can be machined.
Drake slot toolholders are designed specifically for user needs,
optimizing machining parameters and reducing slotting time. Our slot toolholders can accommodate insert-type tools, which are readily available on the market.
Our technical department will provide you with the appropriate tool and the appropriate machining parameters.
Product Features
Drake's slot toolholders have the following key features:
Drake's slot toolholders only contact the part during the machining stroke.
A dedicated mechanism lifts the tool during the return stroke, maximizing tool life.
Dual guide rail design: Maximum stability.
Automatic tool lift during the return stroke: Extended tool life.
Keyway widths up to 12 mm (material dependent) and special shapes are available.
Fixed 25mm or 50mm strokes: Available for machining key lengths of 22mm or 47mm.
The 4:1 reduction ratio (converting a 1,600 rpm speed to 400 strokes per minute) allows the slot toolholder to be used for machining hard materials even with limited power.
The slot toolholder is compatible with a variety of machine models.
